Cancer Disparities + Diversity in Life Sciences

UMass Boston is an urban campus with a majority-minority student population where 55% of degree-seeking undergraduate are students of color. In recognition and support of that vibrant, multi-cultural educational environment, UMass Boston has developed several initiatives focused on racial and ethnic health disparities research and training.
Learn about a concerted effort in Boston that focuses on addressing cancer health disparities in minority populations, improving cancer research, training and outreach opportunities for students, faculty and scientists and preparing students of color for careers in the Boston/Cambridge life sciences cluster. Additionally, find out about opportunities for community involvement and how doctors, faculty and students are making a difference in with underrepresented minority populations.
